The Erickson Senior Living Pedestrian Bridge project involved the erection of a 3-piece precast pedestrian bridge in Bethesda, Maryland.
The bridge connects an existing parking garage to an existing apartment high-rise, requiring the new precast structure to integrate with two existing structures. The precast components were manufactured by Nitterhouse and erected by Precast Services, Inc., with Whiting-Turner serving as the general contractor.

The Erickson Senior Living Pedestrian Bridge presented unique coordination requirements because of the existing structures and conditions surrounding the installation.
Prior to final design, the precast members required an onsite survey to address the existing conditions where the pedestrian bridge would connect to the parking garage and apartment high-rise.
The property remained open and occupied during the project, requiring strict adherence to the coordinated erection plan. With very little room for adjustments during installation, the project required careful coordination to successfully complete the precast erection within the existing environment.
