Precast Services was selected to complete the precast erection of a seven-level parking garage supporting the new Apartments at Port Liberte development in Jersey City, New Jersey. This major structure provides 803 total parking spaces, including 602 car spaces and 201 bicycle parking spaces, to meet the needs of a growing waterfront community. The garage supports a five-story residential development containing 401 units, including 42 studios, 170 one-bedroom apartments, 168 two-bedroom apartments and 21 three-bedroom homes.

Precast Services supported Jersey City’s growth by delivering a high-capacity parking structure that improves mobility and reduces congestion, reinforcing their reputation as a trusted leader in complex precast construction across the Northeast.
The project site is located on the southern edge of the 40-acre Port Liberte community, directly along the New York Harbor shoreline. Although the location provides strong appeal for future residents, it also introduced the engineering challenges commonly associated with waterfront construction.
The soft, waterside soils required a highly stable working platform to ensure safe operation of lifting equipment. To solve this issue, Precast Services placed timber crane mats to create a reinforced foundation that ensured crane stability throughout the project. This preparation allowed the team to handle large precast components efficiently and safely, while protecting the surrounding site.
The garage design included solid fire-wall panels on three sides. These panels were significantly heavier than standard precast wall components and required detailed lift planning, precise crane movement and constant coordination with site supervisors. Correct crane positioning was essential for safe lifting, accurate installation and maintaining an efficient workflow within a limited construction footprint.
